Destiny, reclaimed.

*Read while listening "Hero - Family of the year"*

She looked so happy, jumping in the playground

No sign of pain

No sign of despair

Just pure joy

Her hair light and shining through the sun's rays

"Hi, why are you crying?"

She said, oblivious to what pain even meant

Carefree. Hopeful. Strong-filled.

"What's your name?" I asked

"Hope. What's your name?"

"I don't know. I'm not sure what my name is."

"Then how do people call you?"

"No one does."

"You look tired. Why do you keep looking at the sky?

"I'm making a wish. I wish I could just have one night. One night of sleep, with no fear. Just one night. I wouldn't complain ever again. Just one night."

"Why can't you sleep?"

"The big monster always comes at night. With no balance, hesitating, yet scary. It seems I did something to irritate it. I wish I knew what it was so I could stop doing it. I swear I would stop if I knew."

"Why don't you just ask?"

"I have. It doesn't speak. It yells, it spits, it punches. It doesn't speak. Mum doesn't seem to know how to talk to it either. She only cries. She cries and shields me whenever she can."

"I can ask Rodney to scare away the monster!"

"I don't think it would make a difference. It always comes back. And it seems we make people uncomfortable every time we talk about it. They don't want to be involved."

"Rodney is brave, he never lets me get hurt. He scared away all the mean people. And now bad people are scared to hurt me. Rodney is my best friend."

"You sure are lucky."

"He can protect you too!"

"Could he?"

"Yes! Look he's coming! I'll ask him!"

I couldn't see Rodney. But she could, she smiled and kept clapping her hands, saying his name.

"He saved me from my parents, Rodney is not afraid of anything. He punched my dad wen he tried to hurt me. They can't hurt me anymore. I have Rodney with me now, I'm fearless."

I still couldn't see him. It seems she was holding someone's hand, but I just couldn't see them.

I decided it didn't matter. If Rodney could save her, maybe he could save me.
